WEEK 5

First of all, I would like to say that every job has its own issues and all of them take an important role in our society.

In my case, my worst job would be becoming a singer. Most people might think this is a job that will provide you with a huge amount of money and fame. However, I reckon that becoming a singer involves a lot of pressure: one day you could be earning thousands thanks to your hits and the other you could be booed by your public, lose your money and everything you had achieved.
In addition, it would be very hard for me because I just can't sing, I sound completely horrible. I would also find it difficult to deal with crowds and negative comments of my viewers.

Secondly, I've asked my grandmother how were her job conditions when she worked. She has told me she started working when she was 14 in a sewing academy. It surprised me how young she was, I don't think I could have been prepared to start working when I was just 14! She also told me that she didn't what to start working so early but she had to do it to help her family out. She would have preferred becoming a nurse, it was her dream job.

Finally, these are the things I have done to improve my English this week:
I have been reading a book in English called "The Lord of the Flies" and I have watched a film, also in English, called "Vera Drake" which I found pretty difficult to understand because it had a strong British accent.
