There are plenty of advantages of taking one of these courses. One of the most important ones is that you are given the opportunity to travel to see the world and discover a new cultural perspective, and, with that, different food, customs, new landscapes and new social atmosphere, which will lead to a better understanding and appreciation for nation’s history and people.
Added to this, studying abroad also grants you the complete immersion in a new language and hone your language skills. The host country will offer you different courses to improve your language, and you will also experience a different style of education, which is the centerpiece of any study abroad trip. Finally, one of the biggest long-term benefits is your personal development: you will gain independence and learn how to get along all on your own in a different country, testing your abilities to adapt to diverse situations and being able to problem solve.




In order to improve my english, this week I started to listen a new music group from Leeds called Alt-J, whose songs had really interesting lyrics with which I learnt some new vocabulary.

WEEK 20: RAVE REVIEWS (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

First of all, here is the link of the review I´m gonna comment on:  https://geeks.media/classic-review-the-picture-of-dorian-gray To begin with, the first part of the review should include a eye-catching title, but it does not include it. The first two paragraphs could be mix into onebut it is a good introduction. Then we have a paragraph with further information. And then four paragraphs after that where the writer gives a detail summary of what is being reviewed. Finally we have the final paragraph where the writer states a good conclusion which includes some recommendations. This week I´ve tried to improve my English by watching some films in English.

WEEK 27: COMPLAINING (Pilar Victoria Martínez)

Some other phrasal verbs are: beat down, get up, give away, back into, set about, be away, count down, etc. By searching of the internet, I have found a complaint letter in which many expressions to complain appears: Dear Sir/Madam:  I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction  at the disgraceful treatment I received at the Walford Branco of Stimpson’s Electronics yesterday afternoon. Firstly, the product I was given  was not the model I had asked for . The new X-401 calculator was demonstrated to me by the sales assistant, and I agreed to buy it. However, on unpacking my purchase, I saw that I had been given the smaller X-201 model instead. Furthermore, this calculator was much cheaper than the model I requested and paid for. It did not have many of the features I needed and was much more basic than the one I was shown to begin with.
