ODD INVENTIONS

UMBRELLA FOR DOGS

Taking your dog out for a walk is a tedious task when there is rainy weather. Nevertheless, this curious invention will make your life easier: an umbrella for dogs! This umbrella is designed especially for them, so they should avoid getting wet during the walk. Its structure is almost like the one of a typical umbrella, with the slight difference that the part of the tarpaulin is turned upside down, so the human could hold it just over the dog. The lead is placed inside the pole because is still important that the dog remains tied up, and, this way, the owner still have one hand free for her own umbrella. This invention could be very useful if it is used in the right way, but I think it may be simpler if we just provided the dog with a raincoat and his normal lead. Anyways, I think this funny invention is worthy to be proved!


f     Finally, in order to improve my English, I have been studying the subject Lengua Inglesa III for my finals and I also started to read another book in English.

WEEK 20: RAVE REVIEWS (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

First of all, here is the link of the review I´m gonna comment on:  https://geeks.media/classic-review-the-picture-of-dorian-gray To begin with, the first part of the review should include a eye-catching title, but it does not include it. The first two paragraphs could be mix into onebut it is a good introduction. Then we have a paragraph with further information. And then four paragraphs after that where the writer gives a detail summary of what is being reviewed. Finally we have the final paragraph where the writer states a good conclusion which includes some recommendations. This week I´ve tried to improve my English by watching some films in English.

WEEK 27: COMPLAINING (Pilar Victoria Martínez)

Some other phrasal verbs are: beat down, get up, give away, back into, set about, be away, count down, etc. By searching of the internet, I have found a complaint letter in which many expressions to complain appears: Dear Sir/Madam:  I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction  at the disgraceful treatment I received at the Walford Branco of Stimpson’s Electronics yesterday afternoon. Firstly, the product I was given  was not the model I had asked for . The new X-401 calculator was demonstrated to me by the sales assistant, and I agreed to buy it. However, on unpacking my purchase, I saw that I had been given the smaller X-201 model instead. Furthermore, this calculator was much cheaper than the model I requested and paid for. It did not have many of the features I needed and was much more basic than the one I was shown to begin with.
