WEEK 9: URBAN LIVING

In this picture we can see the port of Cartagena. 
Cartagena is the place where I currently live and where I have spent all my life. However, I am not sure if I would still live in there when I get older. 
When I am 50 I believe this port will be pretty much the same but it will have a few changes. For instance, I think it might change its form due to the addition of some buildings or even factories that would damage our beautiful scenery and ocean life. I hope this never happens but this is actually how the Earth is being treated everyday, more and more.

For me, Ireland is the perfect place to live because you can connect with nature and be in touch with the media at the same time.


                         

Japan would also be an excellent place for me to live because japanese culture is really appealing to me and the scenery is absolutely striking. 



Finally, this week I have practised my English by watching Orange is the New Black on Netflix without subtitles and in the original version which is in American English.

WEEK 20: RAVE REVIEWS (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

First of all, here is the link of the review I´m gonna comment on:  https://geeks.media/classic-review-the-picture-of-dorian-gray To begin with, the first part of the review should include a eye-catching title, but it does not include it. The first two paragraphs could be mix into onebut it is a good introduction. Then we have a paragraph with further information. And then four paragraphs after that where the writer gives a detail summary of what is being reviewed. Finally we have the final paragraph where the writer states a good conclusion which includes some recommendations. This week I´ve tried to improve my English by watching some films in English.

WEEK 27: COMPLAINING (Pilar Victoria Martínez)

Some other phrasal verbs are: beat down, get up, give away, back into, set about, be away, count down, etc. By searching of the internet, I have found a complaint letter in which many expressions to complain appears: Dear Sir/Madam:  I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction  at the disgraceful treatment I received at the Walford Branco of Stimpson’s Electronics yesterday afternoon. Firstly, the product I was given  was not the model I had asked for . The new X-401 calculator was demonstrated to me by the sales assistant, and I agreed to buy it. However, on unpacking my purchase, I saw that I had been given the smaller X-201 model instead. Furthermore, this calculator was much cheaper than the model I requested and paid for. It did not have many of the features I needed and was much more basic than the one I was shown to begin with.
