WEEK 18: WHO WE ARE (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

Appart from all the body idioms dealt with in class I found several others such as:


- To be(my) flesh and blood which means to be a relative.
- To learn by heart meaning to memorize something. 
- To be thick in the head to not being very intelligent. 
- To get cold feet meaning to be nervous before a big event. 
- To cry your heart out which means to cry very hard.

Finally, this week I´ve tried to improve my English by reading a book called The Ocean at the end of the Lane for our literature course.

WEEK 20: RAVE REVIEWS (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

First of all, here is the link of the review I´m gonna comment on:  https://geeks.media/classic-review-the-picture-of-dorian-gray To begin with, the first part of the review should include a eye-catching title, but it does not include it. The first two paragraphs could be mix into onebut it is a good introduction. Then we have a paragraph with further information. And then four paragraphs after that where the writer gives a detail summary of what is being reviewed. Finally we have the final paragraph where the writer states a good conclusion which includes some recommendations. This week I´ve tried to improve my English by watching some films in English.

WEEK 27: COMPLAINING (Pilar Victoria Martínez)

Some other phrasal verbs are: beat down, get up, give away, back into, set about, be away, count down, etc. By searching of the internet, I have found a complaint letter in which many expressions to complain appears: Dear Sir/Madam:  I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction  at the disgraceful treatment I received at the Walford Branco of Stimpson’s Electronics yesterday afternoon. Firstly, the product I was given  was not the model I had asked for . The new X-401 calculator was demonstrated to me by the sales assistant, and I agreed to buy it. However, on unpacking my purchase, I saw that I had been given the smaller X-201 model instead. Furthermore, this calculator was much cheaper than the model I requested and paid for. It did not have many of the features I needed and was much more basic than the one I was shown to begin with.
