WEEK 23: PERSUASION (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

Some expressions used in order tu persuade are:

- Come on.
- Give it a try.
- Try them on.
- You´ll enjoy it. Go.
- It will be fun, I´m sure.
- You wouldn´t find them twice, come on!
- You´ll never feel sorry about it.
- Won´t you... please?
- Not even for me/ for my sake?
- I´m begging you. Will you?
- Are you quite sure you won´t consider...?
- You´re not going to let me down, are you?
- I really think it would be a pity if we didn´t...

Hyphothesis text:
Bullying unfortunately happens every day. Many times kids are ashamed to tell anyone that they are being bullied. Also, there are parents out there who believe that bullying is just a part of growing up. The truth is that bullying has become increasingly more severe over the years. In addition to this, there are other forms of bullying that exist today, such as cyber bullying.
I think that there are a few reasons that parents do not stop bullying. First, they may not know that it is happening. Second, they may encourage it. And third, they may know that it is happening but they do not know how to stop it or deal with it.

This week, to try to improve my English I´ve been studying and watching Peaky Blinders.

WEEK 20: RAVE REVIEWS (Celia Mantilla Fernández)

First of all, here is the link of the review I´m gonna comment on:  https://geeks.media/classic-review-the-picture-of-dorian-gray To begin with, the first part of the review should include a eye-catching title, but it does not include it. The first two paragraphs could be mix into onebut it is a good introduction. Then we have a paragraph with further information. And then four paragraphs after that where the writer gives a detail summary of what is being reviewed. Finally we have the final paragraph where the writer states a good conclusion which includes some recommendations. This week I´ve tried to improve my English by watching some films in English.

WEEK 27: COMPLAINING (Pilar Victoria Martínez)

Some other phrasal verbs are: beat down, get up, give away, back into, set about, be away, count down, etc. By searching of the internet, I have found a complaint letter in which many expressions to complain appears: Dear Sir/Madam:  I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction  at the disgraceful treatment I received at the Walford Branco of Stimpson’s Electronics yesterday afternoon. Firstly, the product I was given  was not the model I had asked for . The new X-401 calculator was demonstrated to me by the sales assistant, and I agreed to buy it. However, on unpacking my purchase, I saw that I had been given the smaller X-201 model instead. Furthermore, this calculator was much cheaper than the model I requested and paid for. It did not have many of the features I needed and was much more basic than the one I was shown to begin with.
